Fiona and her family spent the last few months of the winter of 2007 and the first few months of 2008 painstakingly restoring and refurbishing the very tired and run-down late C18th town house that is HERON HOUSE.
Tackling the wood worm, re-wiring and re-plumbing, stripping off acres of wood-chip and installing new bathrooms to name but a few of the challenges they faced has resulted in this delightful and charismatic home.
This comfortable, stylish and friendly house offers all you could want, a home from home, and then some. The refurbishment did not stop at the front door, Fiona in November 2007 started on the garden, previously a dark and weed infested uninspiring space. Now a delightful and tranquil walled garden, filled with scented plants including Shrub and Climbing Roses from David Austin and Peter Beales, Irish Yews, Rhododendrons, Azaleas, Clematis and many perennials, just a delight for you to share.
Fiona breeds Working Cocker Spaniels. Daisy and Hebe will great you enthusiastically together with Woodhouse the family's darling black Labrador. Daisy and Hebe welcome other smaller well behaved canine visitors, for which there is a charge of £8.00 per night, please bring your own dog food, bedding etc and please do not let you favourite friend on the furniture or bedding or leave him or her unattended in the bedrooms.
